UPDATE: Teen in stable condition after west side shooting

A teen is in now stable condition at Memorial Hospital after being shot in broad daylight Thursday afternoon in South Bend.

The incident happened just after 3 p.m. in the 3600 block of W. Jefferson Blvd. The 17 year-old was shot in both the leg and chest in the quad of an apartment complex.

Two other young men were seen running from the area after the shooting, and police are still looking for the suspects.

Police say the individuals may have been wearing blue shorts with T-shirts wrapped around their faces as masks.

Anyone with information about these two suspects is asked to contact the South Bend Police Department.
