NILES, Mich.--- Niles High School choose a symbolic way to cap off child abuse awareness activities.

Pinwheels were placed on the lawn in front of the school to demonstrate the number of potential child abuse victims there may be based on the district's current enrollment.

An estimated 400 students in the Niles School District will be abused in their lifetimes.

Officials want the pinwheels to serve as an invitation for abusive parents to come to the building to seek help.
