DEKALB, Ill. (AP) - The family of a Northern Illinois University fraternity pledge who died following a night of drinking says it has "no desire for revenge."
David Bogenberger's family issued a statement after police and prosecutors announced arrest warrants for 22 members of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity in DeKalb. The family says "alcohol-involved hazing and initiation must end."
Bogenberger was found dead at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house last month. A coroner says his blood alcohol content was about five times the legal limit for driving.
Five fraternity members face felony charges and 17 are wanted on misdemeanor charges. NIU says 31 students are accused of violating the school's code of conduct and could face penalties ranging from reprimand to expulsion.
