A Muncie couple is being held without bond after authorities said they withheld food from their two young children for days at a time.

Doty and 40-year-old Jason Doty are charged with two counts of neglect of a dependent. Muncie Police Sgt. Linda Cook says they were arrested Friday after taking their 19-month-old and 4-year-old children to a Muncie hospital.
Cook says the children would go two to four days without anything to eat except water and a few crackers. Cook says the 19-month-ond weighs only 17 pounds and is being treated for severe
malnutrition and is expected to recover.
Cook says Child Protective Services has taken custody of both
children.
It was not immediately known whether the Dotys have an attorney.
