Motorcycle crash in Elkhart lands Vermont man in hospital

Elkhart, Ind. A Vermont man is recovering Wednesday night after something fell off a truck and knocked him off his motorcycle in Elkhart County.

It happened just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday on S.R. 13, north of CR3, that’s just north of Millersburg.

Police say Shane Parks, 30, was riding north on his Harley Davidson when a fiberglass sidewall loaded on the box truck in front of him came loose.

It flew back and hit Parks, pushing him off his motorcycle.

He was taken to the hospital for possible fractures to his knees and left foot.

Police have not yet found the truck or its driver.
