Free food was available Friday in South Bend as the food bank opens another mobile food pantry.

The pantry was open from 10 a.m. until noon at the Charles Black Recreation Center on West Washington Street.

Besides this South Bend stop, the pantry will move along to four other locations this March.

It offers Michiana residents fresh produce, dairy, meat, and grain items available as well as dry goods.

All shoppers have to do is show a valid photo ID and bring boxes or bags to transport the items home.

The food is first come, first serve. Here is a list of the following food pantry locations:

-March 15, 10 a.m. to noon, National Guard Armory in Plymouth, Indiana.

-March 19, 10 a.m. to noon, God's Highway to Heaven in Warsaw, Indiana.

-March 21, 10 a.m. to noon, River of Life Church in Elkhart, Indiana. This location is a drive-trhough stop though.

-March 26, 10 a.m. to noon CST, First Pentecostal Church in Knox, Indiana.

The Food Bank of Northern Indiana's mobile food bank travels to different communities in Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Starke and St. Joseph counties.
