It's on the road again bringing food to those in need, and this time the Mobile Food Pantry of Northern Indiana made a stop in St. Joseph County.

Those that helped pass out the food Friday went through box after box making sure everything was stocked for everyone.

The gym was packed at the Charles Black Recreation Center.

Indiana residents walked up and down the lines grabbing all the things they need.

They could take bread, potatoes, veggies, pastries, pop and other goodies.

Even though the pantry looked like it was stocked with food, directors say there is always a need for more and in fact some things are needed more than others.

“…Especially meat, all kinds of items, yogurt, milk, all those sort of things can be donated. The community can, but businesses would be great. If we could get businesses on board as well as communities we will be able to help meet those needs” says Community Educator Denise Singh.

The Mobile Food Pantry was open Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., but its job is not done. It will continue to travel around Indiana. Its next stop is in Goshen on February 13th.
