Authorities are looking for the body of a New York City man who disappeared off Lake Michigan's Indiana shore while in a small inflatable boat on a gusty day.
An Indiana conservation officer says two boats and a personal watercraft were searching Tuesday for the body of 31-year-old Leonel Dominguez of the Bronx. The search area was expanded several miles east from Beverly Shores to Michigan City.
Officer Terri Arlandson says boats were using sonar to search and dive crews were on standby.
The agency says Dominguez and Evelyn Hernandez were rowing the boat when winds topping 30 mph and 3-foot waves prevented them from returning to shore. The boat capsized when Dominguez tried to climb back in after trying to swim it to shore.
