ELKHART A man once charged with murder in a deadly shooting has been sentenced on a lesser charge.
According to the Elkhart Truth, 26-year-old Terry Sheets will serve 30 years for voluntary manslaughter and criminal recklessness.
Sheets was originally charged with murder in the April death of Matthew Barks. He admitted to firing the fatal shots but said it was in self-defense. Attorneys lowered the charges as part of a plea agreement.
