The man accused of threatening to stab former congressman Joe Donnelly when he was in office pled guilty on Friday in a U.S. District Court.
Granger resident Brett Keiling, 48, was arrested in Jan. 2011 after a staffer at Donnelly’s South Bend office told police he threatened to stab both her and then-congressman Donnelly.
During the summer of 2011 a judge ruled Keiling was mentally unfit to stand trial and ordered him to undergo treatment instead.
On Jan. 11, 2013 Keling returned to court and pled guilty to the federal charge of threatening to assault a U.S. employee with the intent to interfere with performance of official duties. His sentencing has been scheduled for April 15th.
