Authorities have identified a 19-year-old man shot and killed by Fort Wayne police this weekend.

The Allen County Coroner's Office told The Journal Gazette on Sunday that Tavontae Jamar Haney of Fort Wayne died in the shooting Saturday afternoon on the city's southeast side.

Haney fled from an SUV after police pulled it over. Police Chief Rusty York says officers shot Haney after Haney directed a gun at them.

Police say a gun was found at the scene of Haney's shooting.
