Indianapolis police are questioning a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man outside of a restaurant on the city's northwestside.
Officers were called about 5:45 a.m. Saturday to a Denny's Restaurant on reports of a person shot in the eatery's parking lot. Indianapolis police say in a news release that patrons of the restaurant reportedly held down the suspected assailant until officers arrived.
The male shooting victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld by police pending notification of his relatives.
The suspect in the shooting has been detained by police and is being questioned by detectives, who are also speaking with witnesses to the shooting.
