Man dies after being shot in Michigan City

A man is dead after a shooting in Michigan City. Now, police are asking for the public's help to piece together what happened at the scene.

Berry Williams, 29, was found laying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound, in the 200 block of N. Calumet Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Friday.

According to a press release, police arrived on the scene within one minute of the initial call. Williams was unresponsive at the scene. LaPorte County EMS personnel took Williams to St. Anthony Memorial Hospital and doctors pronounced Williams dead.

The Michigan City Police Department Detective Bureau and Street Crimes Unit are investigating this case. Sergeant Matthew Barr is the lead investigator. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact Sgt. Barr at 219-874-3221, ext. 322.
