A man accused in a series of violent crimes across our area appeared in court Monday morning.
Anthony Jefferson, 43, faces several charges, including murder and robbery. He allegedly shot Jason Reid and Tyreece Walker back in September.
Reid died from the shooting.
Police say in the days before the shooting, Jefferson forced a woman to withdraw money from an ATM and then robbed a 7-Eleven in Mishawaka.
He then took off for Rockford, Illinois and had a stand-off with police.
His trial is set to begin Jan. 13.
