A truck driver and his dog were reunited after a fiery crash on the Toll Road Wednesday.

According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, Justin Luther is a semi-truck driver based in Missouri. August 13, Luther was one of two semi drivers involved in a crash on the Indiana Toll Road that closed two westbound lanes of traffic.

One of the semi trucks caught on fire.

Luther takes his dog, Tia, everywhere with him. But the afternoon of the crash Luther and Tia were separated when the dog ran off.

"I think I irritated the Indiana State Police Troopers," Luther told the Elkhart Truth, "They wanted to talk about the accident and I wanted to look for my dog."

Luther called the Elkhart County Humane Society on Thursday to see if anyone turned his missing pup in.

The woman on the other end of the line told Luther his call was well-timed and a dog matching Tia's description had just been brought in.

According to the Elkhart Truth, the dog was found wandering in the backyard of a home near the crash site.
