ST. JOSEPH COUNTY A 12-hour marathon of cutting and sewing is kicking off Tuesday, and it’s all going to Make A Difference.
Extension Homemakers and community volunteers are sewing things like weighted blankets for autistic children, marbled sensory packs for kids to trace the letter on the fabric, bags to fasten around the arm of a wheelchair, tote bags, and any other number of items. The items will go to Busy Hands of Michiana.
The event runs from 9a.m. – 9p.m. on Oct. 22 in the Esther Singer building at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds. Folks can come and go as they please. They will accept fabric donations, including bath towels and sheets, in addition to sewing hands.
