Dental hygiene students at IU-South Bend were welcomed back to campus this year with a brand new, state-of-the-art facility.
The new Roger S. Pecina Education Dental Hygiene Clinic is part of an entirely renovated building. The arts and education departments are also now located at the new Ester Street location.
The facility is filled with up-to-date technology, funded through the support of donors and alumni.
This year, faculty and students have ditched the former paper methods for a completely digital approach. Students can now show patients charts, x-rays and potential problem areas on a computer screen, instantly.
The low-cost clinic will again be open to the public on Friday, August 30.
