SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- Things are slowly improving for a Granger native critically injured in a serious bike crash last week at Indiana University.
Lauren Gill was injured during practice for the Little 500 at the Bloomington campus.
She is a member of the Indiana University Nursing Team competing in the race.
Gill was riding in the practice race Thursday, and flew over her handlebars after a cyclist in front of her slowed down suddenly.
Lauren's family tells NewsCenter 16 she's still in critical condition but she's now semi-conscious, and has been taken off the ventilator.
They still don't know the full extent of the damage caused by injuries to Lauren's brain, and are asking for the community's continued support.
