Several area fire departments and law enforcement agencies are getting thousands of dollars in grant funding.

It’s all thanks to the Indiana Homeland Security Foundation, which supports public safety.

St. Joseph County received $4,000 to purchase computer tablets for Clay Fire. Penn Township also received $4,000 for new water rescue equipment.

Elkhart County’s emergency management agency was given $3,800 to purchase a portable air conditioner for its emergency operation center.
