In Jasper County, Indiana police responded to a crash on Thursday night and found seven people dead. The crash involved three vehicles on I-65 near the 230 mile marker.

Steven Crockett, 33, was driving a semi-tractor pulling a box trailer. Because of work zone traffic, the semi stopped suddenly and rear-ended a Jeep, pushing it into the back of a trailer.

The impact was so great, fire engulfed the Jeep.

Inside were seven dead bodies – three adults and four kids.

Four of the victims are from Merrilville, Ind. while the rest are from Atlanta, Ga.

It does not appear that either alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
