A coroner says it may take weeks to determine the age, race and gender of a person whose skull was found in the White River in Indianapolis.

Marion County Chief Deputy Coroner Alfie Ballew confirmed Monday the skull found the night before on the south side of Indianapolis is from a human.

Indianapolis Fire Department spokesman Lt. Larry Tracy says a dive team searched the river for additional remains Monday but didn't find any.

John Hudman of Indianapolis tells police he was fishing Sunday night when he saw the skull floating in the water.
