The 11 members of the Electoral College from Indiana will meet Monday to formally vote for Mitt Romney as their counterparts across the nation hold their own largely ceremonial gatherings.

Romney won Indiana handily, but didn't fare as well elsewhere. The 11 Indiana electors will meet 10 a.m. Monday in the House chamber at the Indiana Statehouse while their counterparts across the nation will do the same.

Federal law requires the nation's electors to gather on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December to cast their votes, which are then sealed and sent to the president of the U.S. Senate.

The 11 electors from Indiana represent the nine congressional districts and two at-large electors. In Indiana, electors are chosen at the state conventions of each political party.
