Indiana residents received some bleak news on the jobs front on Friday when unemployment numbers were released for March.
Indiana's seasonally-adjusted jobless rate remained unchanged last month, staying at 8.7 percent. The lack of change ends the recent upward and improving trend in the Hoosier state.
Despite the general halting of rates, the manufacturing sector experienced another month of job growth.
Here in Michiana, Starke and LaPorte counties had the highest unemployment rates of 11.6 percent. St. Joseph county was just behind, reporting unemployment rates of 10.5 percent.
At the other end of the spectrum, Pulaski and Kosciusko counties had the lowest jobless rates of 7.6 percent.
