SARASOTA, Fla.--- There is new information concerning a spring break trip that put one Indiana University student in a life threatening situation.

Isaac Griffith,19, is out of a medically induced coma after he nearly drowned while swimming in Florida.

Florida police say Isaac and his friends were drinking before they went for their swim.

Isaac was unconscious by the time his friends pulled him to shore.

His father, Shannon, is using Twitter to give updates about his son.

Last night he posted Isaac knew his name and could move his hands and feet once the medicine wore off.

Isaac attends and plays football at Indiana University.

The Griffith family wants to thank the public for their support and prayers.
