Around 175 calls are taken every day at the Indiana Poison Center and this week is devoted to poison prevention.
It's to raise awareness about what can be poisonous and teach ways to keep children and others safe.
Officials say it's important to replace child resistant caps tightly and to keep household products locked and stored up high.
They also add that kids learn by imitating, so take medicines where children can't watch.
If you think someone has been poisoned, contact the poison center at (800) 222-1222.
