Ind. outdoor businesses being hit by drought

Indiana's long dry spell is starting to take a bite out of outdoor businesses just at the time many are in their peak seasons.

Open burning bans have been issued in at least 30 of Indiana's
92 counties as much of the state is listed as being in at least
moderate drought.

Alan Erwin tells The News Sun that his business selling firewood
and other supplies to campers at Chain O' Lakes State Park is down
about one-third with the burn ban in northeastern Indiana's Noble
County.

Judith Writsel runs a campground in the southwestern Indiana
town of Lynnville. She tells the Evansville Courier & Press that
she's ready to tell campers they can't have open fires because
she'd rather lose a little business than see the campground burn
down.
