Authorities say a Fort Wayne woman died and a man was seriously injured when an all-terrain vehicle overturned in rural northeastern Indiana.

Thirty-eight-year-old Jodie Lynn Deck died at the scene of Thursday night's accident in Whitley County. Her 37-year-old passenger, Caleb Ball of Fort Wayne, was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital where he was listed in fair condition.

Indiana Conservation Officer Darren Reed tells the Journal Gazette that the ATV Deck was driving apparently rolled over after it went off a county road near a curve and then traveled a short distance along an embankment a few miles east of Columbia City.

Reed says neither Deck nor Ball were wearing helmets when the ATV crashed. He says the couple lived together in Fort Wayne.
