A fisherman heading home for the evening found a woman's body along a gravel road in west central Indiana.
Police say the body was discovered about 6 p.m. Saturday about a mile north of Indiana 42 near the boundary between Vigo and Clay counties east of Terre Haute. Investigators believe the body had only been there for a few days.
The woman was described as a white female between in her 20s or 30s, with brown, shoulder-length corn-row styled hair. She was wearing dark clothes.
The cause of her death hasn't been determined. An autopsy is planned.
Vigo County Chief Sheriff's Deputy Clark Cottom says in a statement that investigators are checking missing persons reports to see if they can identify the woman.
