Ind. DOC officer arrested in South Bend, faces drug-related charges

South Bend, Ind. A drug bust in a South Bend neighborhood has left a correctional officer on the wrong side of the law.

An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for Kenneth Bell, 26, an officer with the Indiana Department of Corrections.

State police discovered a marijuana operation in the home he is leasing in the 1800 block of East Fox Street, that's on the city's southeast side.

Troopers found a dozen pot plants in the basement, along with other drug-related materials throughout the home.

Bell is facing a number of charges, including possession and dealing marijuana.

His arraignment will be scheduled once he's taken into custody.
