INDIANAPOLIS Two Indiana State Police troopers and a trucker have gone to a hospital but avoided serious injuries after a collision between their vehicles closed Interstate 70 in Indianapolis for more than two hours.

Police say a semitrailer and the troopers' patrol car were traveling in adjacent lanes Tuesday afternoon when the truck veered right and then left, striking the patrol car and sending both vehicles spinning, with the rig coming to rest atop the patrol car.

Police say Sgt. Terry Treone and his passenger, Senior Trooper Bill Dalton, went to a hospital for observation, as did 68-year-old truck driver Daniel Edmands of Maryland. Each man is expected to fully recover.

The semitrailer spilled a load of 4-by-8-foot sheets of steel.

Officers cited Edmands for unsafe lane movement.
