A priest told mourners at the funeral for a couple killed in an Indianapolis explosion that there's no way to understand their deaths.
The Indianapolis Star and WISH-TV report hundreds of people attended the funeral for 34-year-old John Dion Longworth and 36-year-old Jennifer Longworth at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Monsignor Tony Volz presided.
The Nov. 10 blast devastated their Indianapolis neighborhood.
Jennifer Longworth taught second grade at a Greenwood school where each Christmas she gave her students knitted hats and scarves that she made herself. The school closed for the day so teachers and students could attend the funeral.
Her husband was director of product development and technology at Indy Audio Labs.
Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard and members of the police and fire departments attended the funeral.
