Former Irish football coach Ara Parseghian celebrated his 90th birthday on Tuesday.
He led the Irish football program for 11 years, from 1964-74. Ara won two national championships, in 1966 and 1973.
He’s lived in South Bend since his retirement and has devoted his life to combating Niemann Pick Type C disease which has afflicted several of his grandchildren.
