Democrat John Gregg is getting help from his parents and other relatives in his final push to defeat Republican Mike Pence in the governor's race.
Gregg's parents, Don and June, and his brother Joedy met with voters at a polling place at an Indianapolis church Tuesday morning. His aunt and uncle, Barb and Amos Musselman, met with voters at an Indianapolis retirement home.
Gregg started the day voting in his southern Indiana hometown of Sandborn and is working his way north to Indianapolis. Running mate Vi Simpson voted in Bloomington before heading north.
Pence is expected to hold the governor's office for Republicans. But Gregg has closed what had been a double-digit gap in recent weeks and received a late infusion of cash from national Democrats.
