South Bend, Ind. South Bend is joining cities across the country in an initiative to go green, by planning to host an upcoming conference.
Mayor Buttigieg welcomed the members of the GreenTown Conference Wednesday afternoon.
The conference is scheduled for October 10 and 11, and will discuss different sustainable initiatives to improve communities.
Members of the conference hope to implement these avenues in South Bend, and across the midwest.
“We just had an advisory committee meeting with 65 people representing institutions from South Bend and from across the Midwest, and it was very exciting to see that much interest,” said Gary Cuneen, Executive Director Seven Generations Ahead.
The conference will be held at the Double Tree Hotel downtown South Bend, and is open to the general public.
