GOSHEN The Elkhart River Restoration Association is looking to return the Goshen Dam Pond to its former glory.

The group is eyeing funding for a 2 million dollar project, that would remove silt that has piled up on the bottom of the pond over the past 150 years.

The Elkhart Truth reports that the pond is currently only 3 feet deep and plants have taken over parts of the water.

They want to remove up to 3 feet of silt from the bottom, so the pond can once again be used for recreation.
