A new business park in Goshen was deemed shovel ready for construction and is ready for economic development.

The 220-acre Waterford Commons business park received the designation earlier today from the economic development council.

To be considered shovel ready, a site must have defined boundaries, a clear title and price, local government support and environmental approvals.

The developers say the space features flexible acreage lots as well as bike and walking paths.

“I'm excited we got to this point, it's going to be great for the city of Goshen when site selectors come and they work and they build in a hurry,” said Goshen mayor Allan Kauffman.
The goal of the shovel ready program is to make sites more attractive to companies and speed up economic growth.
