Goshen College students pitch in around the community for 'Service Day'

Goshen, Ind. Groups of freshman from Goshen College spent the day doing service at sites across Elkhart County.

It is all part of the school's 15th annual “Service Day.”

Projects ranged from helping feed the hungry, to lending a hand at construction sites.

A handful of students worked at a Habitat for Humanity build adding a shed, siding and cabinets to one of several new habitat homes.

Others worked at "Soup of Success" to expand their center in Elkhart.

As they hammered away, students learned about volunteer opportunities globally and locally.

Goshen College's day of service spanned nine sites throughout the area.
