ELKHART A giant inflatable gorilla was put up at a car dealership in Elkhart recently. Lochmandy Motors thought they were promoting a big sale, but residents in the community saw something totally different. They thought the company was contributing to the Sarah Strong campaign.

Elkhart has been plastered with purple over the past few months, as the community raises money for 15-year-old Sarah Crane and her battle against stage-four colon cancer.

Folks saw the giant purple gorilla as a sign of support, and posted it to the Sarah Strong Facebook page. It had more than 300 likes within a few days, and Lochmandy took notice.

According to the Elkhart Truth, Lochmandy Motors put a poster on the gorilla's chest reading "We are Sarah Strong," and they're making a $500 donation to the fund. They'll donate an additional $100 for each new car sold before Saturday.
