Friday's the deadline for lawyers to apply for an upcoming vacancy on the Indiana Supreme Court.
Justice Frank Sullivan is retiring to take a teaching job at Indiana University's McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis.
Sullivan was appointed in 1993 by Democratic Gov. Evan Bayh. His replacement will be the third justice to be appointed by Gov. Mitch Daniels.
The Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission will hold public interviews of candidates on July 17-18, followed by second interviews on Aug. 8-9. The panel then will narrow the field to three finalists whose names will be submitted to Daniels.
