DTSB First Fridays – Downtown for the Holidays – 5-9
Santa arrives at the Jon Hunt Plaza at 5:30 to kick off the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Fireworks will follow. Children can take photos with Santa beginning at 6:30 (parents can bring their own camera to capture the memory for free). Santa’s workshop is open from 6:30 to 9 Friday night, with extra hours through next week.
Tree lighting ceremony – 6p.m.
Santa will be at the event! Treble Clef Singers perform carols, starting at 5:45 outside the police station on Church Street. Hot chocolate and cookies are available. HealthLinc and Mishawaka Food Pantry are seeking donations of hats, scarves, and non-perishable food items. Winterfest begins Saturday at Merrifield Park.
Winterfest kickoff – 6:30
Help Mrs. Clause find Santa! He’s hiding in Civic Plaza. The elves will provide the clues, but they are asking for a new, unwrapped toy in exchange, or a $3 donation. The event kicks of a 10-day celebration of winter.
Lights parade – 7p.m.
Vendors offer hot chocolate and sweets, beginning at 6:15 at Beckwith Park. The candlelight parade features 117 floats and marching bands. It steps off at 7.

Light the Bluff – 6:30
Lake Bluff Park will be illuminated Friday night with thousands of lights on the community tree, and holiday-themed displays. Music, live mannequins, and shopping are part of the celebration.
