Free camp encourages kids to start saving

GOSHEN For the 4th year, Everence Credit Union in Goshen is hosting a youth savings camp, aimed at helping kids learn the importance of saving.

Branch manager, Tim Martin, says developing habits now can help in the future.

"The point of it is to teach children about saving. Help build that discipline, so as they enter adulthood and they start facing big financial decisions, they've already learned how to save and how to wait," said Martin.

Catch the Save Wave is running August 4-8 at 1301 College Avenue in Goshen. The event is free to all age children and anyone who opens a savings account will receive a $5 contribution from the credit union.
