Fort Wayne residents whose yards were left littered with fallen limbs or entire trees by recent storms will have until September to clean up the debris, although some residents are pressing for even more time to remove the mess.

Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement Director Cindy Joyner tells The Journal Gazette (http://bit.ly/LXDHCT ) the city won't begin enforcing code violations until early September over trees and limbs not removed following the storms, which caused widespread power outages.

But the director of Fort Wayne's Northside Neighborhood Association questions whether 60 days is enough time to clean up all the storm debris. Cynthia Keller says residents in the hard-hit neighborhood that's now crisscrossed by massive fallen trees should be given even more time to remove fallen trees and limbs.
