Leaders of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo are working on plans for improvements to its Australian exhibit that features dingoes, kangaroos and other animals from that continent.

An online job posting says a new manager for the exhibit will help oversee a planned $5 million renovation, but zoo officials tell The Journal Gazette that it's too early to discuss project details

The online posting says the renovation plans include a new permanent stingray habitat.

Zoo director Jim Anderson says it's now in a "silent fundraising stage" and that the project's scope will depend on how much money is raised.

The zoo spent $1.3 million last year on a new plaza and safer drop-off area for visitors. In 2009, it completed a $9.5 million expansion of its 20-acre African exhibit.
