Fog and alcohol appear to be the factors behind a crash that killed a Hamlet woman.

Emergency crews were called out to an accident that occured on Range Rd. near 800 South in the town of Kingsford Heights.

Just after 1 a.m. Monday morning, Amanda Lovins drove her Ford Explorer into a concrete culvert.

LaPorte County Coroner John Sullivan says the 20-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.

Toxicology reports show the driver had a blood alcohol content of .283. This amount is more than three times the legal limit.

Lovins was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
