Court records show a former central Indiana high school teacher accused by a 16-year-old student of raping her has agreed to plead guilty to criminal deviate conduct.
The Herald-Times reports (http://bit.ly/Nf9XTg ) that court documents filed in Marion County show 45-year-old Daniel Goens agreed Sunday to plead guilty to criminal deviate conduct in return for an eight-year prison sentence. The former Monrovia High School teacher previously also had been charged with rape, criminal confinement and two counts of child seduction.
The girl told police Goens invited her to his Indianapolis home to babysit but when she went there they were alone and he forced her to have sex. The Monroe-Gregg School District fired Goens in December.
He is scheduled to be back in court on Aug. 15.
