Evansville's Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden has added a pair of "beasts" for visitors to see.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports the zoo has added 4-year-old male and 2-year-old female takins to its Asian exhibit. The goat-like animals have heavy builds, long noses, shaggy coats and heavy horns that curve back. They're native to the Himalayas.

The zoo says a takin likely was the main inspiration to the look of the "Beast" in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast."

Tale, the 4-year-old male, came from the St. Louis zoo, and Dawa, the female, came from Los Angeles.
