Emergency crews in South Bend spent part of Wednesday morning dealing with a gas leak just west of downtown.

Construction crews were working in the area of Taylor St. and LaSalle Ave. when they hit a gas line.

People living nearby the scene were evacuated. They were able to go back into their homes by 10 a.m.

Another gas leak occurred near Rum Village Park on Ewing St.

Crews were putting in water lines and it appears someone clipped a gas line.

Workers from NIPSCO repaired both leaks.
