Elkhart students go back-to-school Wednesday; changes to class start times

Wednesday it

MGN Online

Elkhart, Ind. Wednesday it's back to school for Elkhart students.

And this year, the start times are changing.

High schools start two minutes earlier.

And elementary schools start about 20 minutes later.

Middle schools start just five minutes earlier.

Students in kindergarten through sixth grade will be in class an additional 70 minutes each day.

Families should have received letters in the mail about bus stop information.

If you have any questions, you can call the transportation department at 574-262-5695.

Because of these changes, kids now qualify for the federal extended Day Snack Program so elementary students will all get an afternoon snack.
