Sunday afternoons along the Saint Joseph River in Elkhart will be missing a traditional feature this summer.
The 66 year-old Elkhart River Queen will be docked for the season.
This comes after owner and operator John Cleveland discovered water leaking into one of the hulls.
Until the ship is repaired, Cleveland says he doesn’t want to put the public at risk.
"I made the decision real quick that I wouldn't put any passengers on it,” said Cleveland. “My policy has always been safety first and go from there. I would not put anybody on this boat at the present time."
The boat was built in 1947 and has stayed in Elkhart ever since.
