Elkhart County is welcoming several new officers to the Sheriff's Department.

7 patrol and corrections officers take their oath of office at the Goshen Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon.

But first, the Sheriff's Department teams up with the Goshen Salvation Army to fight hunger in Michiana.

The Salvation Army needs at least $2,500 a month for their operations.

The Salvation Army's “Big Red Kettle” is set up outside the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department on County Road 26 in Elkhart.

They're accepting monetary and non-perishable food donations from 8a.m. through 6p.m. Tuesday.
